Cyclemania was founded in 2004 by us (Les and Helen Faber).

We are Canadians cyclists who currently reside in Ottawa, Canada.

This site was redesigned into a blog format (from a forum) in early 2008 to allow for easier access to cycling information.

Behind the words

I (Les Faber) am the voice behind Cyclemania and the first featured blogger. My posts will focus on life as a cyclist living in Ottawa as well as bike trips in Canada and abroad.

Guest Bloggers

Cycling is a journey. Without the contributions of our Guest Bloggers, Cyclemania would not have enjoyed the growth we have achieved so far. Each Blogger brings a new perspective, unique cycling experiences, and their individual style to the table.

Behind the scenes

Since my wife (Helen Faber) is a search engine optimizer and web marketer, she is in charge of development, management and promotion of Cyclemania. She also enjoys photography and will be building photo galleries related to cycling. And of course she will be joining me on the road with my bike.

Then and now

We both grew up in the suburbs of Montreal Quebec, Canada. In the early years we both rode our bikes as a way to get around (cycling to school, to our friends and the park). My early memories are of lots of skidding, scrapes and scabs. Winters were spent riding my bike in never ending circles around our basement while the snow gathered outside.

For Helen, it was riding on the handlebars of her grandfather’s bicycle. He delivered the mail by bike in the Netherlands. Now… we ride for health & enjoyment. Our plans include doing an annual cycling trip abroad.
