Japanese Bicycle Garage – Wait Until You See This

Our son Ryan sent me a video this week about a very interesting bicycle storage technique being used by the Japanese. You’ll have to let me ramble for a while before you see it (or skip ahead a bit).

In my little world, bicycle storage is a matter of waiting until the first snow and then hanging your bikes upside down in the garage until Spring.

When Helen and I participated in our Dutch cycling adventure, we saw plenty of bicycle garages & storage facilities.

The various bicycle storage facilities we saw left me in awe. The Dutch know how to store bicycles (securely). Hats off to Helen’s forefather’s. Until now….

Take a look at this video. I could not believe it! The bicycle storage / parking facilities are all located in Tokyo.

Cut away….

And if you want to see how at all works… (no translation provided).

Eat your heart out Marc!

Very impressive! Let’s go and… check it out :)

I can think of LOTS of other uses for this garage !

    Girlfriends, for example –

    - and apartments in Tokyo are expensive. You could file yourself away for a nap, or for a place to stash your Parents while they are in town!

    • Les Faber says:

You’d have to make sure you filed your girlfriends in different areas of the facility. I don’t think that’s an option as the system is automated – ;-)

      I like the nap idea.

The parents may work. It depends if they are on speaking terms.

      Thanks for the chuckle! :-)
