A stressful day at work makes for an anxious cyclist. I decided to put it all behind me and go out for a solo (reflective?) ride this evening. The mercury was showing 12 degrees Celsius – balmy for Canada (eh?)!
How tough is that? Actually — really tough. I left the house with a route in mind. What a difference a winter makes. The roads are heaving all over the place. I ended up making a bad decision right off the bat and drove down a road that had construction nearby. My precious S-Works is mud-encrusted. I know, it will wash off.
Too add insult to injury I thought I was riding into the wind – a good idea at the start of a ride. It ended up that I wasn’t. It was simply very cold air. So that 37 kmph rate was bogus —- 19 on the way back – ROFL.
I did an informal survey with a couple of my Spinning friends last week. The question was about equivalency – as in what equals what? After my ride I’ll say that an hour of riding in this evening’s conditions is like 2 hours of Spinning. The conditions were pretty bad. But I do have a big smile on my face.
Oh yes – 27 Kilometers. Doesn’t seem like much. But I am pooped!
Cycle, Spin, get out and ride!

winter rides are cool!
except de fact that your bikes look like shit after it….
Never mind the bike – you should have seen the rider!
I’m still too prissy about my bike (which is less than a year old) to want to get any dirt on it!
Of course it gets dirty, but it pains me to see mud on my baby.
You should have taken pictures!!
btw veronique(my girlfriend gets her bike today
