Cycling in Quebec City – First Ride of 2009

Good News my friends! Spring is knocking on our doors!

As many of you know by now, last year was my first “cycling” year… This basically means that… it was my very first winter without biking. Winter is (very) long in Quebec City. Of course I bought a home trainer. But riding a home trainer is SO redundant and boring! (If someone has a good source for cycling DVDs I’d like to know — please!!).

The good thing is the snow is slowly melting. I actually did my first ride this year! My buddy Gino and I took a ride near a ski station! Can you imagine the nice view when you’re riding at 7 degree Celsius with people going down a big mountain on their skis in the background? I almost felt as if we where on the Tour de France — except for the fact that I was not in France and the mountains where no the Alps.

So I took a picture for you guys!

People at the station where a little bit confused when they saw us with our bikes!

So at the end of the day here are my conclusions:

  • Spring cycling IS SO GREAT
  • You have to be careful with cars… (I don’t like mud….)
  • 40km for the first ride of the year was great!

So to all of you my wish is that we all get a nice cycling season with a lots of fun!

Spring/Summer is here again! Let’s enjoy it!

PS: I have created an Excel spreadsheet to automatically calculate all my mileage this season… If anyone here is interested let me know!

Awesome stuff. I wish I was with you guys.

Funny you should mention cycling DVDs as I was contacted recently to see if I would do a review on some. I should be getting them soon and promise to post my review quickly. Stay tuned!
