Ottawa has a large network of shared use trails. This allows cyclists to ride to many areas of the city without having to worry about automobiles.
One of my favorite rides is from Algonquin College to Parliament. Helen & I have done it many times. Last year I decided to film the ride – not only for posterity. But also an aid to others who may not have taken this route. If you are cyclist living in Ottawa, you probably have. If you are planning to visit the Ottawa area and cycle, this is one route I would recommend highly.
Some pics from along the way…..
My apologies for the camera work. Riding and filming is not easy. Excuses aside, the video is long – 10 minutes. But if you have never done this route, I think it’s worth your time.
Cycle on!

Great Shots !!!!
Nice story and I love the cycling path. That’s just such a great way of keeping fit without being exposed to agressive motorists. The Ottawa path is very similar to the paths we have here in Brisbane

Thanks Groover. I am tempted to drop by and try your local paths as ours are currently buried in way too much snow!
