Today was my sixth day in a row of Spinning. As you may recall, I was away for a few days on business. Withdrawals set in on Day 2. I was going absolutely crazy. Silly me. I could have brought my Spin gear to Toronto with me as there is a Goodlife near the hotel I stay at. No matter – I got my “fix” upon my return.
Spin classes at Goodlife are awesome. On the most part, the instructors are female. Don’t assume that because they are women that they are “soft”. Quite the opposite (I am no longer fooled by a pretty face.). These ladies mean business!
After 6 consecutive days of Spinning I will admit that my energy level is not what it was on the day I returned form Toronto. I’ll also add that I have been sleeping quite well of late.
Spinning is a viable alternative to cycling inasmuch as it gives one a superb cardiovascular workout. You don’t get the rolling scenery. But you do get to work in a motivating team environment. Stress relief is optimal. And you don’t have to worry about crashing onto something.

I agree Les, Spinning (or Indoor Cycling) is a great alternative to riding outside when it’s just too nasty or dangerous (ice, etc) – it’s why I started Cycling Fusion and created Virtual Cycling DVDs. Check them out – they are a first when it comes to making them like the “real deal”, and not just watching guys butts

Next time you’re in Toronto, try the spinning classes with Bruce at Roland Semprie Rosedale — they are amazing! It’s got a really nice VIP vibe … like a spa … and it’s a really calming way to give yourself a treat while out of town and stressed out. The facilities are GORGEOUS. Check it out!
Thanks Lee – I just may do that. One can never get enough Spinning!
