Help fill the container and deliver this year’s Bicycle Empowerment Center to a deserving community
Please help spread the word!

What a great initiative. I have to find out if there are similar things happening in Oz.
BTW: Like the new layout of your blog!
Thanks Groover. Helen & I are 100% behind bicycles for Humanity. Where else can your donation go 100% to the people you are trying to support?
Thanks also for the BLOG kudos. All of these site updates have put us behind on our posts!
Hi Les
Thank you so much for highlighting the B4H initiative!
A little progress report: We now have about 200 bikes and we are looking still for another 100-150 to fill the container to capacity!
The drive is going on until September 20th – thank you for spreading the word!
Seb
The 2008 Bicycle Empowerment Center was a great success! We loaded and shipped the container on Saturday September 27th. Wow! Started with an empty 40 ft shipping container, and 4 hours later we needed 3 guys to push the doors closed!
350 bikes, 20 large boxes of spare parts and tools, backpacks galore, and enough soccer gear to give over 600 little athletes at least one item!
The container will now travel to Namibia by truck, train and ship – estimated arrival is in mid November!
Next up..? We’re off to Namibia to see the impact of our last shipment in 2007 and meet the recipient community for this year’s Bicycle Empowerment Centre!
Seb
