I recently became aquainted with “Pete the Pig” – aka CyclePig. Pete runs a great cycling Blog. He is Australian and Blogs about his and Mrs. Pig’s cycling adventures. They (Mr. & Mrs. Pig) are currently touring France by bicycle.
Author’s Note: I did not give them these names…. they did.
His latest post had me in stitches. In it, he compares himself to Carlos Sastre (the Winner of the 2008 Tour de France).
Mr. Pig’s Profile:
Profile – Australian, 32 years old
- Weight – 81 kg (178 lbs)
- Equipment Weight – 39 kg (86 lbs)
- Key Attributes – absolutely no natural cycling ability, drinking specialist
- Route – 4 flat stages, 15 mountain stages, 4 rest days
- Distance – 1,585 km (984 M)
- Riding Time – 102 hours 30 minutes
- Competition – Mrs Pig
- Photographs Taken – 3,412
- Massage Time – 5 minutes (Mrs Pig was feeling generous)
- Alcohol Consumed – 50 beers and 40 glasses of wine
- Fans – 0 (although numerous people cheered for me while cycling up Alpe d’Huez)
Bottom line is that Pete knows how to write a good and engaging Blog Post. Why do I say this? Simply because he has me reading them start to finish and I am always looking at my RSS Feed to see what is coming out of that Australian mind next.
Have a look and let me know what you think.
Cycle on!
