Deb from the KNBC had a great trip planned out for us. From all reports, cycling in West Quebec is idyllic.
We parked our car on the Ontario side and took the ferry over to Quyon, Quebec. I had great vibes from the get go. It was a cloudy day. But the short ferry ride was so pleasant and relaxing that I really didn’t care.
The small group assembled in the parking lot by the ferry and Deb gave us our trip instructions and a map.
Here’s our route. I only created it in one direction as we came back the exact same way we went (Note to self. Look right when going and right when returning.)
And we were off.
Overall the route is a bunch of rolly polly roads that go through some very nice countryside.
Of note is Norway Bay. This is a very nice riverside town. Not too far away is the Pine Lodge. We stopped there on the way back where a few members of our group had lunch. I think I’ll plan another trip to the area just so I can stay at the lodge. It oozes history.
After Norway Bay it is very quiet roads all the way to Sand Bay. Helen & I had lunch by the beach here.
After a short break we headed back the other way.
