…or does he?
We have all read news stories telling us that the City of Ottawa is moving forward with their 10 year cycling plan.
I am not sure what it all means. Are we guaranteed every aspect of “the plan”? Or is it all political posturing to keep all of us “cycling advocates” at bay. Yes we can be a rowdy bunch!
Mayor O’Brien made a post on his BLOG yesterday with an update on the Cycling Plan
Council unanimously carried the five-year implementation of the first of two phases of the Ottawa Cycling Plan.
This is great news for cyclists in our City who will enjoy the benefits of more bike lanes, cycling pathways and paved shoulders. The plan also includes steps to improve the safety of cyclists and a review of our cycling network and infrastructure.
Investments in cycling infrastructure will benefit Ottawa in a number of ways including promoting a healthy lifestyle, reducing traffic congestion and air pollution and improving the health of our citizens.
What does this all mean? I am not sure. But time will tell – won’t it?
