I am always looking for interesting stories related to cycling. And, as an avid cyclist, I seek inspiration from others. It doesn’t take much to inspire me as I am very self-motivated. But, every once in a while, I come across something that I just have to share.
British cyclist Pete Jones is cycling from the United Kingdom to China…. Yes that is right. Across Europe & Asia!

I cannot even begin to fathom what this involves. Probably lots of tires and other disposable bike parts. Plus a whole bunch of self-motivation (for those lonely days & nights) – and incredible conditioning and stamina.
It’s been done before by another Brit Edward Genochio, who completed a 41,000 km trip to China and back. Yikes +20,0000 kilometers one way. I don’t think I have riden that far in my entire life.
Following is an excerpt from the BBC new article on his epic adventure
For British cyclist Pete Jones, camping rough and cycling long distances through inhospitable terrain are second nature.
A veteran of expeditions through places such as the Tianshan mountains and the Tibetan plateau, Mr Jones is currently undertaking a mammoth trip across the Eurasian continent from Britain to China.
I am inspired!
