As a resident of Ottawa, I am embarassed to say that the Nation’s Capital has done a poor job of building and maintaining an adequate cycling network that addresses the wants and needs of all walks of society.
My opinion may be changed soon if the City adopts a not so broad plan that will see a modest increase in cycling routes and usage into the future.
After having read the plan end to end I am not as excited as I could be. My opinion is similiar with that of others . However, more cycling routes are better then what we have now.
In terms of “next steps”, City Council will be discussing what some say is a half-baked plan at their next meeting.
Stay tuned for more posts on this important topic.
