Today has the most amount of daylight of any day of the year – and I am taking advantage of it!
Helen convinced me to take an extended RPM class this morning. Despite my initial protestations, I had an awesome time. Some people get a quick start to their day. I am not one of them. So this morning’s 11 AM class presented a tough start to my day (it is a long day – remember?).
Luckily today’s session was hosted by Kate (one of our favorite instructors). She was able to motivate the entire class through 75 minutes of hard work. What a great workout! I actually think my “tanks” still had a bit of fuel left in the them – despite the previous hard work. Kate is very motivational and does a great job of drawing energy out of a very diverse group of spinners.
In a previous post I had extolled the virtues of spinning. Everyone, cyclist or not will get great value from a small investment of time.
Moral of this story: If you cycle spin. You will get value despite the fact that you don’t go anywhere. If you don’t cycle, spin anyways. Your body will love you for it!

SPINNING, is by far one of the most motivational workouts I have ever done.
It actually gives you a high. Who needs drugs!!!!!!!!!!!
@ Lina: I agree. Helen & I spin whenever we can. It is invigorating and also a great way to stay in shape!
Les, I need to share with you something I’ve learnt today. For the last few workouts my legs have been killing me, probably because of working out at a higher intensity. My instructor suggested taking asprin or advil before your workout, on a regilar basis. Whats your input on this one?
@Lina: I am no expert on Spinning. But…. for your legs to be sore is a good thing. That means you worked like crazy. “No pain no gain”.
I have been Spinning for the last 3 days in a row. I am beginning to be sore. But it’s a “good sore”. I am finding muscles that I knew ere there…..
Personally, I would not take any drugs at all.
Your pain is an indication of the hard work you have put into things.
Just make sure it isn’t because of an injury you may have incurred.
Spin on!
